Welcome to our Garden....
The Tucker Garden Patch is an initiative of The Gloucester Project (TGP), and is located Cnr Fairbairns Rd & The Bucketts Way, Gloucester, NSW, Australia. The Gloucester Project is setting up support systems to promote Gloucester’s position as a major food growing area. A regular growers’ market commenced in February 2010, giving local growers the opportunity of having their own stall or selling small surpluses through the community stall. To do this we need to help land owners and residents to increase production of vegetables, fruit and meat products. See More.......

HELP WANTED
Sunday 11th July - Planting Fun at the Patch
Here are some photos taken today at the Patch. We were planting some potatoes that had started sprouting.
Recipe: Plonk potatoes on top of previous “volunteer garden”.
Add soil improver (donated by Landcare), compost (made at the patch) and chook manure (donated by John Sergeant.
Add a woolly blanket of wool (donated).
Cover with rich garden soil.
Pile on a thick layer of mulch.
Although it is winter and more frosts are still to be expected, we decided to plant the potatoes that were sprouting strongly. We are hoping that the wool and thick mulch covering will protect them from frosts. If they don’t survive the winter, we will still have a richly prepared garden bed to plant something else come spring.
